Please keep Chloe and the Diemer family in your prayers. She is a sweet, loveable little 8 year old girl from our L.A. church. Such a delight to be around. She was very recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia - A.L.L. Here is the latest on her condition from her mom Karla:
Wednesday:
Her treatment will be very critical for the next 9 months. Chloe will start to lose her hair in a couple of weeks. She is not well enough to start chemo in her IV yet, because of her pneumonia (sp) it is much worse today. She has only had the one dose of chemo in her spine yesterday, I think it was yesterday .....what else....ummm....oh, the treatment (chemo) will last for 2 to 3 years but most of it will be on an out-patient basis. She may even be able to go to school next spring 2008. Until then, we will start home schooling her. Her A.L.L has a 85-95% cure rate meaning, no more, all gone never have it again cured. She is going to stay in the hospital for 2 more weeks or so. The dr also said that they don't know exactly, but that Chloe probably got the cancer only a few weeks ago. That is the nature of this Leukemia it's acute and it's onset is just that sudden. Tonight Chloe has a 104 temp and they put in another IV line and are also giving her oxygen and she is not doing that great right now. She hasn't eaten in 2 days. She is pretty weak....but our God is strong.
Friday:
Chloe has had a very tough week thus far and tonight she had her first dose of chemotherapy in her IV which means it will go throughout her body. She did have chemo in her spinal fluid on Monday, but it did not go into her entire body. We don't know what the rest of the night will hold for her, but we do know that WHO holds her is bigger than anything. We are trusting in the Lord for everything and would very much appreciate your continued prayers for our family.
Big Love, Karla & Family
