Kids...

are a huge pain in my side at this current time. Well let me rephrase that, a certain group of kids in my apartment complex are a real pain in my side. There that sounds better, now I can explain the reasoning behind this statement...

I got home from church the other night (I had car pooled w/ Florin, imagine that = ) ) and to my surprise saw something on the hood of my car? So I casually walked over to see what it was and one of the blessed children in this apartment complex decided he needed to write his name on the hood of my car with either a stick/rock/or key...Oh but then realized that it didn't look good after writing it once so he scratched it out and re-wrote it, but then realized that he didn't like that one either and scratched it out as well.

I've always been a big fan of kids, but this has made me a very un-happy person.

What are parents teaching their kids these days? Or teachers for that matter, to go home and practice writing their names on the hood of other people's cars?

Need I say more?? I don't think so...the picture below should tell the rest of the story....

Pssst! Hey Sis. I think you might have some bad luck when it comes to cars. Call me crazy but this seems to be following suit. Don't feel to bad though, I just lost one of my TWO speakers in my hunk o' junk. Now I get to listen to part of the song through my front-right speaker.

But seriously, that totally sucks and I'm very sorry. I would be more than happy to slap some kids around for you. :)

Oh great, wonderful, come on down, I'll point you straight to the kids are the causin' all these problems.

I've actually learned (believe it or not) to roll with the punches at this point.

Already have an apointment to get this fixed. Sorry to hear about the speakers = ( Thats no good either.

Maybe Zach could pin them down and then you could sit on them. Sounds like a plan to me!

So then does this mean that you'll both be coming down here for special meetings?

Here's another idea (in addition to slapping or sitting onthose precious children) -

How about advising the parents that this kid obviously feels the need to practice writing his/her name, and perhaps he/she should practice writing it (on paper of course!) for an our, every day for a week? If I was given that sort of dull and repetitive punishment as a child, I don't think I would ever feel the need to use the hood of a car as a writing surface again. Just a thought!

Seriously, I'm sorry that happened to you. That must have been very frusterating. (I have to say though that this teacher has NEVER EVER encouraged my students to practice writing thier names on cars!)

Okay - so I looked back at my original reply and noticed that my hastiness in writing an answer made me forget how to spell .... :) Here is what it should have said:

"perhaps he/she should practice writing it (on paper of course!) for an hour, every day for a week?"

It helps get your idea across when you can spell!

Ok great idea Ms. W, but it still would be kind of funny to see Zach and Matt take after these kids and settle this matter once and for all = )

So I talked to Property Management today and they said that they are pretty sure they know who the kid is that drew on my car. Oh yes and that they will be contacting the parents to let them know what their child did to my car.

Oh and in case your interested, just to get 3 panels on my car repainted it's aprox. $2 grand. Maybe that child will think twice next time before he goes to draw on a car.

Oh wow, you DO realize that it has been almost two months since you last posted, right? What happened to Stacy? Where did she go? What happened with your car by the way, is it all pretty and fixed now?
